Focused Inclusion.

A scientifically-proven alternative to unconscious bias training that delivers measurable results when it matters most - at the point of action.

Learn the four principles of focused inclusion in this Forbes interview with our Managing Director, Katryn Wright.

Read about our experiment with 10,000 managers, showing a 12% - 20% increase in hiring of women and non-nationals.

How it works.

  • Identify priority moments in formal decisions or everyday experiences.

Focus on critical touchpoints like hiring, performance reviews, and pay decisions, as well as everyday experiences such as 1:1 meetings and team interactions where bias can impact outcomes. Use data and employee listening to prioritise where to focus first.

  • Intervene as closely to that action or behaviour as possible.

Create targeted interventions that address bias at the point of decision. This might mean amending guidelines, updating process flows, redesigning agendas, or refining assessment criteria. Draw on existing literature, but adapt interventions to your culture and context.

  • Evaluate your impact with an experiment.

Design and implement experiments to measure the effectiveness of your interventions, using both quantitative metrics and qualitative feedback to assess real impact.

Companies serious about improving diversity should reimagine their training efforts to be more behaviorally informed.
