Behavioural Science Communications Intern: Spring/Summer 2026

  • Location: our offices at Second Home, Spitalfields, London

  • Compensation: London living wage - £14.80 per hour.

  • Duration: 1 day a week (8,5 hours), for a 8-week period commencing 18th of May.

about the role

Are you passionate about making the workplace better for all? Do you love experiments and research? Are you obsessed with behavioural science, and would you like to use it to address real-world challenges? If so, we’d love it if you’d apply for our behavioural science internship this spring.

This is a great opportunity for an aspiring behavioural scientist to gain experience in the field. You’ll develop your skills by helping us think through new media and comms channels to share our insights, writing up our research and experiments for new audiences, and innovating our approaches to research dissemination. Additionally, you will be responsible for your own distinct project which will centre around the our communication approach of translating scientific insights to a business and general audience.

what you’ll do

This specific internship has a strong focus on communicating our findings and translating scientific insights to a broad audience, which is the focus of your personal project. However, we want you to gain experience in all parts of being a behavioural scientist so the programme will also involve working the team and pitching in on various ongoing research projects.

Your responsibilities will be a combination of the following tasks:

  • Advocating for behavioural science through the dissemination of our research.

  • Translating data and scientific insights to a wide audience, by writing articles for the general community, creating social media content to creating creative forms to communicate insights.

  • Helping the team produce video content and editing this to be shared on social media platforms.

  • Improving our current communications approach and introducing new technologies to do so.

who you are

We’re interested in a range of backgrounds, and are not limiting our search to behavioural science students for this application.

You will have:

  • A genuine passion for creating change, influencing behaviours and scientific approaches.

  • A creative mindset, curiosity about our work, and the confidence to experiment with new formats and channels.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage different kinds of audiences, and experience using creative tools such as Canva, Figma, or video editing platforms.

  • A passion for storytelling and translating complex scientific insights in different and innovative ways.

  • Strong self-organisation and the ability to deliver work to a high standard within agreed deadlines.

  • The right to work in the U.K.
