Donating 10% of our profits to charity.
In 2019, we started making a quarterly donation to charity. We chose GiveDirectly, who transfer money to families in extreme poverty to spend as they wish. Their work is far removed from ours, but we share the same principles of respect, empowerment and a commitment to evidence and experimentation in pursuit of our cause.
Today, we made our Q3 donation and are on track to an annual target of £20,000. We’re only a small business so we’re proud of that contribution, but we would also like to do more. To that end, we’re pleased to announce MTN Ten – an ongoing commitment to give at least 10% of our profits to charity.
There are many reasons why beyond the obvious: We’ve been long inspired by Brewdog’s Unicorn Fund and the Innocent Foundation. Amid all the clamor for growth for its own sake, organisations like these offer something more meaningful to look up to. Maybe other start-ups will even see MoreThanNow in the same light one day.
We’re also proud of the social contribution we make through our Inclusion Practice, however it is right to acknowledge that when operating in corporate workplaces, we’re often addressing relative inequality in some of the most privileged places in the world. Through charities like GiveDirectly, our financial commitment will reach those most in need in our global community. You can learn more on the GDLive Blog.
Our thanks to all our partners in 2019 - the wonderful people at Nationwide Building Society, Ericsson, Arcadis, Aggreko, London School of Economics, ISG, Transport for London, M&G Prudential, the Financial Conduct Authority, Phoenix Group and Standard Life Assurance, BT, Upfield and Unilever. We wouldn’t be here without you.
